Shrimp fishing cutters first appeared in 1898 and were
virtually restricted to the North Sea. Ten years later they began
to be fitted with 8-12hp motors and were usually about 10 metres in
length.
The Bremen was a wooden boat built in 1953 in a small
boatyard on the German coast
